Christmas Lights Switch-On
Yesterday evening was the 60th anniversary of the switching on of the Oxford Street Christmas lights. This year the lights have gone all environmental, as for the first time the street’s history, the lights are made with energy efficient bulbs, with Oxford Street lined with 27 LED light curtains made up of 220,000 individual lights. The lights are 90 per cent more energy efficient than the bulbs used in previous years and this new design replaces the orb-based lights we have grown accustomed to at Christmas over the last few years.
Last night’s switching on ceremony was carried out with the help of musicians Ms Banks, Joy Crookes and Kojey Radical.
Here at Lazeez, we were offering visitors to our restaurant on Duke Street a complimentary shot of green tea and Lebanese baklava with any main course you order when dining with us this evening.
